@awaisqarniee Punjab was annexed by the british in 1846. During Ranjit Singh era, a punjabi qaida was compulsory for every subject making litracy rate in punjab around 85%. British banned it, and in the divide and rule thing inculcated the thought that Urdu is Muslim language.
