If you’re more worried about @realDonaldTrump unmasking on a balcony with no one close to him than you were by the Obama/Biden administration unmasking (aka illegally spying on) their political opponents, my diagnosis is you have TDS, & my prescription is to put down your phone.
There are two types of preachers. Those who say:
Look at me.
or
Look at Him.
And usually everything else in the worship service and in the church follows suit.
There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from Immanuel’s veins; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains: Lose all their guilty stains, Lose all their guilty stains; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty stains.
It should always be the church warning the world about falsehood and potentially damning ideologies, not the other way around.
We’ve lost our saltiness.
An estimated one million Israelites crossed the Red Sea and professed their faith in God.
Within a few hundred years, only 7,000 had not bowed the knee to Baal.
The gate has always been narrow.
My single greatest frustration in this life is my own sin.
I want to love, but say hurtful things.
I want to worship, but feel cold.
I want to trust, but often doubt.
I long for deliverance when Christ will "make all things new" (Rev 21:5).
J.I. Packer’s 6 things a Christian should tell themselves everyday:
1. I am a child of God.
2. God is my Father.
3. Heaven is my home.
4. Every day is one day nearer.
5. My Savior is my brother.
6. Every Christian is my brother too.
Preacher, you may be tempted tomorrow to preach on social ideologies, politics, rioting, coronavirus, and any other myriad of issues.
Instead, be counter-cultural and preach Christ.
Always preach Christ.
The beauty of marriage is that a man & a woman can show the world Gods plan for His Church.
The attack on the true representation of marriage is real. This trivialization & depraving of something Holy is straight from the pits of Hell.
