If this news about the RESERVATION is true then govt has carved a deliberate design to disempower Kashmir more & more. The NC-led govt. is throwing the entire Kashmir under the bus just to appease Jammu vote bank.

The govt knows fully well that Kashmir hardly benefits from the existing reservation setup, yet it has chosen to target the only category RBA - the only category among the existing categories that somehow benefits Kashmiris. We aren't saying that the RBA category shouldn't be touched but who stops govt to touch SC, ST-1, ST-2, OBC, ALC etc. Why the govt is carefully protecting all categories that overwhelmingly benefits Jammu region?

When we in Kashmir demanded rationalisation of reservation, it was meant to bring empowerment for the region. But what the NC govt is doing is the exact opposite. By scrapping or diluting only RBA quota, and not touching SC, ST-1, ST-2, OBC, ALC etc it is widening the regional gap and rewarding Jammu’s dominance in the reservation share.

This was not resolution we were struggling for, instead of ensuring equal representation, the government is reinforcing a 70–80% reservation advantage for Jammu and reducing Kashmir’s already marginal share even further.

This skewed and discriminatory reservation matrix has now become a tool of systematic disempowerment, designed to marginalize and disenfranchise Kashmiris in their own land. And the tragedy is that it’s being done by a government that claims to represent Kashmir’s aspirations but is paving the path for its disempowerment.

The data from recent recruitments lays bare the truth, the reservation system is functioning as a one-region advantage mechanism, leaving Kashmir almost orphaned:

1. JKPSI RECRUITMENT:

Total Posts: 1,200

Jammu: 1,048
Kashmir: 152

2. SUPERVISOR RECRUITMENT:

Total Posts: 186

Jammu: 124
Kashmir: 62

Only 2 ST girls selected from Kashmir; all others from Jammu.

3. KAS-2022 RECRUITMENT:

Total Posts: 220

Jammu: 173
Kashmir: 47

4. JE (Civil) RECRUITMENT:

Total Posts: 855

Unreserved: 313 | Reserved: 542

Out of 308 Reserved Category seats (ST, SC, ALC, PSP, EWS): only 39 from Kashmir.

5. VLW RECRUITMENT:

Total Posts: 1,395

Jammu: 852
Kashmir: 543

(Unreserved: 495 | Reserved: 900)
