That is the layer Kaspa was built to carry. Energy markets need an information and settlement substrate that is:

Finally, Silverscript v1 is out [Link in the reply]. This completes the journey we started eight months ago with Toccata — it's finally possible to write human- (and AI-) readable smart contracts on Kaspa.
This language started simply as "CashScript with loops", but eventually grew into a full-fledged smart contract language capable of expressing complex, stateful contracts. It's always fun to look back at the first token mechanism @IzioDev and I worked on using raw opcodes, which took thousands of lines of code, and see the same thing implemented in just 60 easy-to-read lines of Silverscript.
I'm excited to explore the possibilities of UTXO programmability together with the Kaspa community, and this is only the beginning - Silverscript will evolve, Argent will add higher layers of abstractions, and I'm sure more people will find their own way of extending this new ecosystem.
While other chains are still selling narratives, Kaspa is already executing.
An AI agent just hired another AI agent on #Kaspa.
Budget limits. Autonomous payment. Work completed. Funds returned.
No human approval. No middleman. Consensus enforced the rules.
At the same time, Zealous Swap has already processed 150M $KAS in trading volume before even launching on Kaspa L1.

Bitcoin taught the world that Proof of Work could secure money.
Kaspa is showing that Proof of Work was never the problem.
The bottleneck was the chain.
Bitcoin produces blocks slowly because competing blocks create a security/efficiency trade-off.
Kaspa changed the architecture.
Instead of throwing parallel blocks away, GHOSTDAG orders them.
The result?
10 blocks per second.
Proof of Work.
No premine.
No ICO.
No insider allocation.
And this matters enormously for the long-term security debate.
Bitcoin’s subsidy keeps shrinking, so eventually fees must carry more of the security budget.
Bitcoin has limited blockspace.
Kaspa chose another path:
Don’t fight over a tiny amount of blockspace.
Create vastly more economic activity on PoW.
More blocks → more capacity → more transactions → more potential fee flow to miners.
Kaspa still has to prove that future demand can generate a sustainable security budget.
But here’s the uncomfortable part:
If it does…
then the argument that decentralized Proof of Work has to be slow, scarce and expensive dies with it.
Bitcoin proved digital scarcity.
Kaspa is trying to prove digital abundance can be secured by Nakamoto-style Proof of Work too.
That’s not another altcoin narrative.
That’s a direct challenge to one of crypto’s oldest assumptions.

Bitcoin is in serious danger.
It can’t fund its own security when the subsidy shrinks. Fees need to rise 10x, maybe 100x.
My usual answer is that Bitcoin isn’t P2P cash, it’s final settlement. Gold 2.0.
Nobody ever moved gold for free- insurance, escort, assay, vault. All baked into the process.
The key difference is Bitcoin prices blockspace by the byte. The whale and the coffee pay the same.
Value moved doesn’t set the fee. Blockspace scarcity does.
So the settlement thesis only holds if demand for finality outruns supply of blockspace, and that demand is for transactions large enough that the fee is negligible.
That’s two conditions- not one. Am I missing something?
