Like many London EM consultants, I was shocked and saddened by Bill's death.
But at the funeral service, I felt another emotion in the room too, and that was anger.
Anger at what the current working conditions had led to or contributed to for Bill and perhaps for the rest of us.
🌟Huge congratulations to midwife Trudy Berlet who has been awarded an MBE in the King’s New Year’s Honours for her outstanding services to bereavement midwifery! 🌟

RCEM comments all too true. And NHSE sending out more ‘offload’ ambulance directives. And the ‘improvement’ 76% 4 hour target (ok as temp goal) but bottling any push on real 8-12 hours stays which we know cause harm Should be ashamed.@RCollEM https://t.co/O9nrvvzbu0
Well camp’s nearly over so it’s time to get in the festive spirit over the next few days. First up I’ve got a signed jersey to gift to someone to say thanks for all the support in 2022 - just retweet this post to enter 🎅 👌 🎁

Siri, show me something to illustrate the disconnect between the “NHS improvement community” and the “poor buggers trying to actually deliver care in a system that’s been deliberately collapsed” ⬇️🙄 We’d get a buzz if you fixed social care provision. #FiddlingWhilstRomeBurns
When patients can’t get hold of their GP for something urgent, we rightly blame 12 years of shoddy Tory government for gutting the NHS. So why - when we can’t get hold of HR for something equally urgent - do we blame Darren from HR and not the villains hiding in plain sight?
