Today marks the 80th anniversary of Jersey's liberation from the German occupation.

Last night, @GovJersey ministers were hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, to mark the 80th Anniversary of Liberation Day.

Over 150 attendees, including UK Government ministers, Peers and Ambassadors, gathered to celebrate the historic anniversary

A very productive meeting with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer today together with my fellow Chief Ministers from Guernsey and the Isle of Man @iomcm @Govgg

The meeting reinforced our strong working relationship with the UK government.

We discussed the valuable economic contribution of the Crown Dependencies to the UK, greater participation in Free Trade Agreements, and the transition to lower carbon economies.

The meeting took place at the British Irish Council summit in Edinburgh @BICSecretariat. The BIC convened to discuss members’ joint commitments to a just transition to low carbon economies.
