I got to work alongside a familiar face today, as I started work at the same school my year 5 teacher attends. This wonderful lady, whether she knows it or not, is one of the main reasons I chose to become a primary teacher. Such a full circle moment! โบ๏ธ๐๐ชโจ
I had my last ever on-campus class this week & what a bitter-sweet moment it was! So thankful for all the experiences Iโve received and friendships Iโve gained over the last 4 years. Wishing all my cohort success on their future endeavours. Hereโs to the future! ๐ค #acuedu_p
Year 5 are currently learning about 3-Dimensional objects! Today, we had the opportunity to construct our own square-based pyramids, cuboids and pentagonal prisms! ๐บโฝ๏ธ๐น

Learning Walls are extremely valuable in our classroom. It is important because it is a visual display that students can go view to get important information about their learning. It shows them what they will be assessed on, how they can succeed and what is expected of them.
I have definitely used some of these! Iโve also seen some kindy teachers at my school use:
teacher: โsoldiersโ
student: โattentionโ
The kindy kids loved this one! ๐
Today with stage 1, we had lots of fun making Motherโs Day craft before enjoying a picnic with their mumโs and welcoming them into our room to showcase Ss great work! ๐๐ #ACUedu_p
This is fabulous - I need this as a poster in the class!!! Reminding Ss of strategies and tools they can adopt to manage their emotions and resolve conflict is so important!๐๐ผ๐
This week 1R has been learning about how to describe characters in terms of their physical characteristics and internal traits. Another anchor chart to add to the wall! #acuedu_p
As part of the routine on Fridays, my class are shouting out someone and thanking them for an act of kindness ๐ฃ๏ธ๐๐ฝ Gratitude is such an important part of positive wellbeing. Kids absolutely love doing this! #acuedu_p
In this weeks EDFD452 tutorial we learnt the importance of ongoing and open communication with parents. We also gained insight into everything โparent-teacher interviewโ related. I found it so insightful and helpful! By far one of my favourite tutorials yet! ๐๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐ซ๐๐ผ #ACUedu_p
Using these as a wall display is very beneficial in engaging all students in their learning and reducing any unwanted behaviour ๐ #abilityvseffort#acuedu_p
I love that in my school every morning, particularly in lower primary, Ss identify how theyโre feeling by using our 4 colour based zones of emotional regulation. Such a helpful tool to support the development of Ss self-regulation skills ๐คฉ #ACUedu_p
We hear a lot about the 5Lโs in the younger grades but I saw this in a year 5 classroom. What a great alternative to assure senior students know what is expected of them!! #acuedu_p
5Th kiddos playing โUPโ. Rules: One student in the hoop and the other out. The one out has to strike the balloon twice. The second strike must go above the students heads.the student in the hoop must stay until the second strike is made over head. Score if balloon hits the floor.
โญ๏ธ Pyramid Throwโญ๏ธ Great station for students to compete (or just complete) overhand throwing through the hoops. They place a cube on the paper on top of the hoop they threw it through. #physed#spspe#elementarype
Making meaningful displays for my classroom is one of my most favourite things to do in my spare time. Letโs remind all our students to THINK before they speak. This will make a point in maintaining positive social interactions and a friendly environment ๐ฉท #ACUedu_p
Tb to one of my very first science lessons. This involved year 2 Ss looking at how First Nations peoples use and make ochre for a range of different purposes. Ss loved creating art with their self-made ochre paint ๐คฉ๐จ๐งก๐ #year2#ACUedu_p
