@syzygy_ie@NoyesArt if someone specifically requests a woman and you honour that request you are knowingly sending a woman into a FAR more unsafe situation. in order to POTENTIALLY make someone who MIGHT be a woman feel safer?
@horngal even when they go for like, "immoral but expedient vs moral but difficult" expedient here just means a better gun or ten dollars. never like a narrative or in-character goal a player might have
@redd_foreverr@Kristen_Arnett unfortunately nowhere requires masks anymore but my local library is, at least, literally the only place (including the damn hospital!) where i still see staff masking regularly and a few years ago they did some serious work on their hvac systems
i kinda feel like by summer of an election year in the US, there's this sort of intuitive sense that the presidency is semi-vacant and stuff that happens gets emotionally linked to the election rather than the current administration, especially in retrospect
like people might know logically that the president is still the president until the following january but stuff that happens late in an election year gets blamed on them less than stuff that happens in the middle of their term
@TheLostCynic@angel_0f_deathx but for those same reasons it was completely toothless and largely irrelevant. i'm not really sure HOW one feels oppressed by a movement that mostly fails to go beyond a couple entertainment weekly articles and like 3 viral tweets, let alone at 11
@Diana_C_McNally @David_Moscrop i mean, they ARE fascists, that just doesn't mean they can be dismissed. i don't say "fascist" as a thought-terminating derogatory, the question is "why is fascism gaining so much ground"
now for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of liberals to spend the next 4 years blaming this on literally a few dozen marcyites on twitter only like 7 of whom even live in swing states
@murderanoption @RadishHarmers it is, at minimum, equally fantastical to think "people should just vote better" is an answer to any dem loss
"people should just X better" is never an actual solution to literally anything
@cogmeyer@nicolesantacruz@propublica these sweeps don't reduce any of those problems though. they shuffle them around while making them worse. i can understand a business owner being glad that it's some other business owner in another part of town having their door blocked, but that's not a good basis for policy
@xatzimi1 @nylerodgers @quinjoq i would consider the problem more that commercial and even residential streets in the US are designed for high speed traffic but regardless people will go at a speed appropriate for the road design and disrupting that is in fact more dangerous than tolerating it
@SlyBlue13@1707Nobody@GurrenP@elfluvr9000 he is constantly surprised by incredibly predictable reactions and outcomes. he's capable of making them an offer that's difficult to refuse and knows enough to lie about the downsides but he's hardly a master manipulator
@Ouijae you should talk to my wife then. i am mostly getting "best since adventure" from her actually i've barely played frontiers and only just started shadow this morning
@Ouijae i guess given their habit of making games that are 40% good 60% filler it's a stark improvement for the filler to be sonic generations and not werehog
@Ouijae it is the best 3d sonic game since adventure and it is also like 4-6 hours long and they make you buy a game anyone who cares about this probably already owns alongside it. sega owns
