Prosegue in tutta Europa la caccia agli antifascisti da parte del regime di Orbán.

Questa volta nel mirino c’è Zaid, un giovane rifugiato siriano di 20 anni, anche lui accusato per i fatti di Budapest del 2023.
L’Ungheria ne ha richiesto l’estradizione tramite Mandato d’Arresto Europeo: oggi, a Parigi, si terrà una delle prime udienze del processo.

Finora i tribunali italiani e francesi hanno sempre rifiutato di consegnare le persone al regime di Orbán, riconoscendo che in Ungheria sarebbero soggette a discriminazioni, condizioni detentive disumane e un processo ingiusto.
Solo la Germania si è macchiata dell’infamia di aver consegnato illegalmente Maja T. - contro il parere della stessa Corte Costituzionale Federale tedesca -, tutt’oggi prigioniera nelle carceri di Budapest e sottoposta a un trattamento allucinante.

Teniamo alta l’attenzione. Per Zaid, per tutte e tutti.
Nessun attivista dev’essere più estradato in Ungheria, dove l’antifascismo è ormai equiparato a terrorismo e dove la giustizia del governo è pura vendetta politica.

Non spetta al potere politico condannare un imputato — tantomeno un avversario — al carcere: questo può essere solo il compito di un giudice imparziale e indipendente, figura, in effetti, ben rara in una “democrazia illiberale”...

#Orban, più parli, più riveli la tua indole fascista. E ricordo a te e ai tuoi emuli che il popolo italiano il fascismo l’ha già ripudiato, una volta per tutte.
Non permetteremo che riportiate indietro le lancette della storia: difenderemo le libertà e i diritti che abbiamo conquistato — e ne vogliamo conquistare ancora, e ancora, e ancora.

And here today in Rome, we have added another piece of great evidence to our hands (Book of Shame + C’è di mezzo il mare) — evidence available to anyone seeking to understand the deadly consequences of Europe’s policies: not only its colonial border externalisation, but also its racism, xenophobia, its war against migrant people, against human rights and dignity, and Italy’s continuous reinforcement of the capabilities of perpetrators of crimes against humanity — between the failed state of Libya and the fascist government of the Italian Republic.

It is what we have been forced to do as a last resort: to write, to protest, to campaign, and to tell stories of horrors that should have never happened in the first place. C’è di mezzo il mare recounts what Italy prefers to bury under the propaganda machine of “invasion,” “border control,” and “migration management.” It narrates not only the colonial past in Libya but also the present — the funnelling of millions of euros of Italian and European taxpayers’ money to mafia networks in Libya and across North Africa, with the sole aim of destabilising the region and enabling the continuous extraction and theft of its resources.

This must not and cannot be on our bodies. We are calling for an immediate end to this bloody 2017 Italy–Libya Memorandum.

And once again, I write this as a proclamation: we are still here, and we will not be silenced. We are the agency of our own voice, our own history, our own story, and our own resistance.

Domenica, nel silenzio dell’Europa, la cosiddetta guardia costiera libica ha aperto il fuoco contro un’imbarcazione di persone migranti in acque internazionali — uomini, donne e giovani innocenti che non facevano altro che esercitare il loro sacrosanto diritto a lasciare la #Libia (art. 13 della Dichiarazione universale dei diritti umani), alla ricerca di libertà e sicurezza.

Due si trovano attualmente in gravissime condizioni, mentre un ragazzo di appena quindici anni sta ancora lottando per sopravvivere in ospedale a Catania. Le autorità maltesi, informate dell’attacco, sono rimaste indifferenti. Quelle italiane sono intervenute solo dopo un ritardo ingiustificabile. Nei fatti, un’omissione di soccorso.

Questo crimine avviene alla vigilia del rinnovo automatico — per altri tre anni — del Memorandum Italia-Libia, previsto per il prossimo 3 novembre: accordi che sanciscono la collaborazione con le milizie libiche.
Finanziato dall’Unione europea e coordinato da Frontex, il Memorandum ha permesso di addestrare, finanziare ed equipaggiare gruppi armati che da anni, in Libia, si rendono responsabili di rapimenti, sequestri, detenzioni arbitrarie, torture, riduzione in schiavitù, stupri e omicidi ai danni delle persone migranti. Sono le milizie del generale Al Masri, per intenderci.

L’organizzazione @RefugeesinLibya ha lanciato una campagna per l’abolizione di questi accordi infami, che l’Italia rinnova di governo in governo e che i cittadini continuano a finanziare con le proprie tasse.
Sostenerla è un atto di responsabilità morale e politica.
La Palestina ce lo ha insegnato: prima di tutto, dobbiamo smettere di essere complici.
