I met my Jr High Principal for lunch today.
Pulling into the parking lot of my childhood country club, I was reminded of early morning swim practice and sun-filled summer days with laughter and soft serve ice cream.
He was charming, thoughtful, and kind.

Recently retired, he served the district for over thirty years.
As the superintendent, he led with vision, tenacity, and determination.
While we talked I realized the voice that resonated with me as a student — and as an adult — the one one that puts others first is his.
