Bring curiosity and a love of learning to all contexts and expand your passions! via @MindfulByDesign
“a fixed mindset might lead you to continue searching for the “perfect” job that immediately lights and maintains your interest, while you neglect all the other possibilities”.
Very interesting article discussing why we need to move beyond the fixed mindset idea of “finding our passion” to a Growth Mindset idea of cultivating our interests and deciding what contributions we want to make with our life.

❤️ Love this quote by Seymour Papert: "We learn best and we work best if we enjoy what we are doing. But fun and enjoying doesn't mean easy. The best fun is hard fun." - Thanks @emily_veno for sharing this with me months ago when we started working on @joinprisma
@MrTomRad Thank you. When other people share that they’re doing it tough too, we feel much less alone, overwhelmed and as if we’ should’ be on top of it. Your honest humanity is much appreciated.
@carlaleeB I might be wrong, but it’s nigh impossible to teach students to type on devices they don’t have. This statement assumes a level of affluence that is of far more concern as an equity issue than the capacity to use the device efficiently!
An innovation on Hollis Scarborough's Reading Rope. Adocates for explicit, systematic & structured phonics understand the many strands that are woven into skilled reading, but also the need to ensure that decoding skills become increasingly automatic, freeing up cognition
“Kids are who they are.
They know what they know.
They bring what they bring.
Wishing that they knew something more or something different won’t make it so. Our job as teachers is to help them transform what they bring...”. Thankyou @PDavidPearson
Learning Goals: “narrow definitions of learning. Learning can and should be expansive and limitless.“
Are we limiting learning when we define the learning in a lesson?
Appreciate the challenge to rethink accepted (required) practice. #LearningGoals#teaching

@bennewmark What other people say about (and to) you says more about them than it does about you (the mantra for my teen girls, but applicable to us all).
Well said!
“Much of the confusion & ill feeling...evident in the debate over school opening could have been avoided if the federal government had taken the time to speak with education unions and teachers” @weteachwell #remotelearning#teaching https://t.co/x4Nrw90RvA
No-one has the ‘best of me’ right now: not the handful of kids in class with me; not the majority online with me; not my senior online at home without me; not my partner when I plan and video half the night. But we’re ‘doing our best’. Thank you @MrTomRad #RemoteTeaching
