@mattyglesias I much prefer to live in an apartment, as long as walls are relatively thick and made of concrete. No yard, no HOA, and it makes visiting neighbors easier. Smaller also = less cleanup.
@SenJohnThune They are keeping it so they can look like they are fighting and can continue to blame the Democrats. It’s like letting your friend hold you back while you strain against them to fight someone who’d beat you. Filibuster still needs to go. It prevents accountability.
@spencerbeswick As someone who taught and went to get a masters in Ed in the past few years, the pipeline goes the other way. Many, many teachers are trying to exit teaching by getting PhDs and working at unis. Teaching is one of the hardest, most stressful, underpaid jobs in the country.
@mattyglesias I would add as a gay woman, I’ve been driven insane by certain people that want to define minorities by that status and by their identities instead of seeing full, complex human beings. It’s irritating for me as a LIBERAL, and might have contributed to the backlash.
@laurie_rachelle@daveweigel For the record, I still voted for Harris. But I can understand why reductionist ideology and language policing would anger people. I think a broader message is more respectful and effective.
@laurie_rachelle@daveweigel I am myself a gay woman and I am beyond sick of being classified by the far Left by my identities and not my life experiences as a whole. It sends a message that we are nothing more than identities and not full humans. I think that’s why minorities swung to Trump.
@deannagmcdonald No, filibuster means they have to live with electoral consequences. It’s not just a “Well we tried but those damn Democrats…” No, a vote would mean something. Unless it’s something that is illegal, filibuster helps Republicans no matter which way you cut it. GET RID OF IT!
@AdamParkhomenko Unless Trump breaks the law, don’t bail Republicans out of bad decisions and let them govern badly. Surest way to break the fever is letting them dig themselves a grave. Dems also need to stop demanding perfect political correctness and start dialogue in more conservative media.
@ZackFradellaWx This is a choice government makes. It is 100% possible to build for hurricanes and end up with minimal damage to structures. I moved to Taiwan, just had my city hit by the eye of the typhoon, and the worst damage is fallen trees. America, this is unacceptable.
@actblue I’ve never seen a group of people (especially one as coalitional and fractured as Democrats have been) unify so fast. I’d hate to be Trump or Vance right now. This is what people were hungry for - youth, change, excitement. 🥳
@SenatorBennet Sir, you were one of the first soldiers out to defend our democracy in this crisis. I will never forget your appearance on CNN. We owe you a debt of gratitude as well. You kept up the pressure at your own great risk. Thank you. 🌷
@SpeakerPelosi Thank you for your service, Ma’am. You did what was best for our democracy in encouraging him to step down. This was one of the greatest acts of your career, and you have my respect and gratitude for it. Onward!
@BillKristol@Timodc I’m so sick of hearing about Biden’s feelings and wounded ego. This is not group therapy. This is politics in the Trump era. Hearing the pity party is just starting to make me angrier. This isn’t about Biden. If he won’t fold, delegates must do something.
@harrisonjaime Yeah, and he was up almost double digits this time in 2020 and barely scraped a win. He’s losing badly in battleground states and is in jeopardy in places like VA, MN, and NM. Completely unacceptable and terrifying.
@harrisonjaime You need to step down. The leadership of the DNC needs to be replaced. I even donated to your Senate campaign and I’m sickened by the gaslighting and ignorance. Joe Biden continues to sink in the polls. Do you care more about Biden’s feelings than our rights??
