When Kateryna Dembovska’s husband went missing in action in May last year, she was told all that was left of him and his unit was one body and two black bags in a Mykolaiv morgue. It led her into a year-long conflict with Ukraine's military bureaucracy.

Her belief that Volodymyr was not killed but lives captured by Russians was tested many times by the authorities and military who were speeding to bury him without a body.

To this day Dembovska fights to bring to the light the truth of her husband's disappearance.
