Let's get the timeline clear here:
1. Career Colleges Ontario warns the Ford government about suspicious OSAP activity in January 2023. Ford lets private career colleges abuse the system for years.
2. Earlier this summer, we learn that just seven private career colleges received $385M in grants, the same amount as all public colleges in Ontario combined.
3. Instead of holding bad actors accountable, Ford punishes all students who rely on OSAP.
Young people are already struggling to get by in an economy stacked against them. Doug Ford needs to reverse these OSAP cuts, take accountability for his own mismanagement, and hold the bad actors responsible instead of punishing all students.
Report: Ontario spent $4 billion over 8 years on private facility funding, which has been increasing faster than funding for hospitals. The effect on wait times? They’re rising. https://t.co/1ZZwVgpIld @CTVNews
Working thread of published research on COVID 19. Every claim links to a real study. Published, peer-reviewed research from journals like Nature, The Lancet, BMJ, and Nature Medicine. Not speculation, this is what the mainstream science says. Please take it seriously.
This reminds me of when the Canadian government told Facebook to pay journalists for their work and Facebook gave everybody a notice that said “Canada is censoring the news.”
it would make a significant difference (especially in a covid surge like right now) if people mask on public transit and flights, in airports, grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, and doctors offices at least
it's been "are COVID-conscious people insane" o'clock on twitter now for WEEKS so dropping this here as a reminder of how the effects of COVID are so unevenly distributed

I’m standing on the “equals” thing even more studying ECE bc so much of development is relational. Kids borrow regulation, judgment, language, routine, etc. from adults before they can do those things alone. Equal dignity is def a thing but relying on someone is not indignity
@mamaghanouja@fillefoux@megannn_lynne I agree you have to find a good fit, with your therapist but also (esp?) with their methods, frameworks, philosophies that inform the practice. For me the dialectical nature of DBT was more helpful than CBT. Psychotherapy is best when it's well-informed by relationality, imo.
@mamaghanouja@fillefoux@megannn_lynne For me, I was frustrated by the 'circle of control' and the individualization it imposes. Like, sure, it may be helpful in an active crisis to calm you down, but that kind of thinking completely precludes any possibility for collective action

The fifth conditioning is transactional thinking. Care becomes a service. Knowledge becomes property. Shelter becomes an asset. Attention becomes inventory. Friendship becomes networking. The market does not merely organise exchange. It teaches society how to perceive.
this is a good example of how population health cannot be secured individually
health cannot be a personal responsibility when the conditions for health do not exist
when you lack safe food, clean air, or clean water, individual choices cannot save you
Can someone please tell restaurants that even the shittiest, blurriest picture of their food is 100000000000x more appetizing than AI slop. We can all tell it’s AI, it looks disgusting, and it communicates a deep insecurity.
