Two officers - Dustin DeMonte, 35, and officer Alex Hamzy, 34 - were shot and killed after a gunman made a phony domestic violence call and ambushed them with an AR-15 at a home in Bristol, Connecticut. https://t.co/g4Wb6sI79t
Connecticut’s gun laws are constitutional, period.
We are not going back to a time where our schools and our communities are put at risk because of assault weapons.
Harry Styles pledged to donate 1 million dollars to
@Everytown and share opportunities to take action in the movement to end gun violence during his LOVE tour
So listen to @Harry_Styles and text LOVE to 644-33. This WA @MomsDemand volunteers is even a bigger fan now
If you can, please consider donating to the Bpt @MomsDemand uniform drive. Proceeds help provide school uniforms to children of the PT Barnum Apts - an incredible community that has devastatingly endured an abundance of shootings. Every little bit helps!

I joined @MomsDemand because I knew supporting gun safety laws wasn’t enough. Children were dying needless deaths and it had to stop! So the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act isn’t just policy to me. It’s personal. Join me in the fight to #EndGunViolence by texting READY to 644-33
At the Capitol with @TaylorMaxw. When I started @MomsDemand in 2012, I called a PR agency to help me pro bono. They sent me their youngest (and cheapest) hire. That then 23-year-old ended up being the brains behind the brand, and now she’s an actual mom.
What a night. The building is full of activists and survivors and the moms and dads who lost kids to this epidemic, here hoping to witness the final vote tonight. So proud of this movement.
Hey beautiful boy. Something happened today. Something good. I’m grateful for all the people that never gave up. I’m hopeful for the families that will never know how this helped them. And I’m crying because I’ll always remember why we are here. 💜
While I was a skeptic (hey, I’m a New Yorker), sending appreciation this morning to @ChrisMurphyCT who trusted folks who had failed us time and time again, and successfully drove the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to passage in the Senate.
@MomsDemand
Nothing about the past 4 years, 4 months and 8 days has been easy. My amazing husband, @fred_guttenberg dedicated his life after we lost Jaime to gun violence to keeping others safe. It has been quite a rollercoaster, but the bipartisan gun safety legislation is a big deal!
BREAKING: The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act just passed the U.S. Senate by a vote of 65-33.
@Everytown, @MomsDemand, and @StudentsDemand drove over one million calls and messages to the Senate to support passage.
Next up: U.S. House vote tomorrow.
Thank you @ChrisMurphyCT your leadership on the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act! This is a major step forward for public safety!
As a @MomsDemand volunteer, I know #GunLawsSaveLives!
