@ThrillaRilla369 Fun fact, I'm honest. And I honestly don't like any of you and don't care to know you. This could have been an email. Emails don't cost hundreds of dollars in travel reimbursement, snacks, meeting room fees or set-up, and loss of actual production time.
I went to my doctor's office and asked if they had any slots open for that day. They told me they don't take walk-ins, you have to call ahead for an appointment.
So I pulled out my phone and called the office. The other receptionist answered the phone and the first one literally WATCHED ME say "I'd like to make an appointment today if you have any slots available."
He said to me (on the phone) all they had available was for 9:00, could I make it in time?
I said "Yep, I'm standing right here."
He didn't understand what I meant and happily put my appointment down.
I hung up and said to the original receptionist, "Hi, I have an appointment in five minutes."
She (very angrily) entered me as arrived and gave me my forms.
So yesterday I took my baby to be groomed. They said he couldn’t be groomed because he wasn’t up on his shots. He was JUST there two months ago no problem. So I take him and drop him off for shots. He was PERFECTLY FINE! When I picked him up he wasn’t. I had to rush him back to dr a few hours later for an emergency. Supposedly there is a NEW shot added to yearly shots. When I asked WHAT they had done, they said the only thing new was that shot. I asked what it was and what it was for? They said it was for dogs on farms or in woods etc that might come in contact with rodents! I said he is a SHORKIE who stays inside and only goes outside to potty! WHY does he have to have that. He had a bad allergic reaction to the shot. They had to give him two more shots to try to help him. We made it through the night but he still isnt good! Please pray for my baby!
i took a 45-minute uber ride home from the airport last night after a brutal, three-day business trip.
i was completely emotionally and physically drained, and my social battery was at absolute zero.
when i got into the car, the driver.. an older guy named kabir.. didn't say the usual "how was your flight?" or turn on the radio.
instead, he just handed me a small, laminated piece of paper attached to the back of his headrest.
it was a literal "ride menu."
it said:
1. *the silent ride* (total quiet, no pressure to talk).
2. *the therapist ride* (if you need to vent about your day, i am listening).
3. *the tourist ride* (i will tell you cool facts about the city).
4. *the radio ride* (we just listen to old jazz and coast).
i smiled, pointed to number 1, and whispered, "silent ride, please. thank you."
he gave me a warm nod in the rearview mirror, adjusted the AC, and drove the entire 45 minutes in absolute, beautiful silence.
it was the most peaceful, therapeutic boundary i’ve experienced all year. i felt my entire nervous system finally reset.
when he dropped me off, i gave him a massive tip and told him, "that menu is a genius business idea. you must get amazing reviews."
He looked back at me and said, "i didn't make the menu to get better tips, dear.
my daughter has severe social anxiety, and she told me that the hardest part of her day is navigating small talk with strangers when her brain is tired.
she told me it feels like running a marathon.
i made the card so that anyone who gets into my car can feel completely safe dropping the mask for a little while."
i walked into my apartment and just sat on my suitcase.
we live in a world that is constantly screaming at us to perform, to network, to be "on," and to over-communicate.
but sometimes, the deepest form of love and respect you can show another human being is just creating a small, safe pocket of silence for them to rest in.
pay attention to the people who give you permission to be quiet. they are rare.
We were absolutely floored by the millions of you that watched us make silly water sillouettes on our driveway last summer. We are starting out the summer the only way we know how, and this time it’s all about movies! What else do you want to see? We have a whole summer ahead, a driveway and a hose. The possibilities are endless!!!

AND, all these climate activists never look at all the trees and vegitation destroyed building massive sub-divisions. A lot of the time, the original land is covered with full grown trees, some that took 100 years or more to grow, containing tons of carbon. And they keep the temps cooler from all the tree shade.
The developers immediately come in and clear cut the land, and many times burn the piles of the trees removed, which releases most of the captured carbon back into the air as smoke.
Then after the houses are build, they plant one or two saplings per house that will take 20 - 25 years to provide any real shade.
Net result; increased temps in that area, much more carbon released into the air, and destruction of the MOST effective means to get carbon out of the air, those big mature trees.
I feel terrible for some of these Uber drivers. This is why you can't get an Uber in hood. You get people that act like this and put this Uber driver though all this stress and drama.
Credit to this Uber driver for not backing down. No surprise that immediately the threat of harm or car jacking comes into play. But the Uber driver was sharp enough to remind him that all of his personal information has already been shared with Uber when he opened his account. Getting that info to the police would be a snap.
Sure mad the thug think twice about doing anything.
If you grew up using a phone booth, you're basically indestructible. We stood in a glass box that smelled like cigarettes, mystery cologne, and bad decisions.. holding a receiver that had been licked, sneezed on, and probably survived three decades of flu seasons. Honestly, if you made it through that era, your immune system has a black belt and a side hustle. 📞😂
☀️ Today in Utqiagvik (the northernmost city in the United States), the sun rose above the horizon at 2:57 AM and won’t set again for 84 straight days or until August 2nd! Here's a look at a timelapse showing the sunset and sunrise this morning. #akwx
