Congratulations to @katpittalis on successfully defending her PhD thesis! 🎉 Her research explores how algorithmic bots manipulate streaming, social media, and ticketing markets in the music industry, and proposes policy reforms to strengthen UK regulatory responses. Well done!👏

@FairTicketing@RhonddaBryant There’s lots of content appearing on Reddit as well discussing how to “hypothetically” get tickets using bots and even people responding with links to these types of discord groups.
Great to see the PhD Law Conference underway in the Moot Court.⚖️
Pictured is @katpittalis, @linas_qub PhD student talking about her research and the use of bots and the effects of dynamic pricing algorithms during the recent @oasis ticket sale controversy.
@faisalislam We have been trying to get this story out there for years.£150 tickets now £400 in Ireland where resale of tickets is banned thus creating a monopoly for @Ticketmaster. They are the root cause to high prices & are the real #touts. You should do an expose on it for #consumers
Once upon a time, Conservative ministers urged fans to boycott viagogo. Yesterday, @kevinhollinrake openly endorsed the UK's biggest ticket touting website. Fascinating to hear Government's rationale for rejecting policies that benefit British audiences over rogue traders
