It’s been a lovely week in Denver bringing most of the @tidelift team together for another all hands. I continue to be humbled and awed by the amazing people that believe in our vision and passionately work to make it real. So good to see old & new faces in the flesh #startuplife
Another cool part of yesterday was hanging out on a webinar with @joshsimmons, @juliaferraioli & @katzj hosted by @tidelift, @AWSOpen on improving #inclusion in open source development. The conversation was rich & nuanced. All of us agree, that there needs to be a part 2.
So glad to be back @monktoberfest. At what other conference do you get to hear about the history of open source breaking the Internet (with Billy Joel), a view of early days of covid from inside an insurance company, and ~ecotoxicology~ helping conservation through a flyathalon?
Today... This is a tragedy. This is not okay. I am sad. I am furious. And I can't find words beyond that right now. 😡
But know that I stand here with you.
This isn’t a role where you’ll be the sole on call but instead more focused on improving some of our setup and being able to help the team learn to be better using databases, how we evolve the tech we use, the resident k8s expert, observability, and more.
#devops#hiring
Continuing on my #hiring train… I’ve put up a new role for an infrastructure engineer (https://t.co/akwIvpGWly) at @tidelift. The role is an IC role but intended to be fairly senior and very focused on helping the engineering team grow and learn.
#devops#hiring
You’d be the first full-time hire for a role like this but we are in a pretty good place as I’ve spent time on it through our history. But we’re reaching a point where the rest of the development team could use someone to lean on, ask questions, and learn from.
#devops#hiring
Excited to announce that we have raised another $27M for @tidelift to continue to grow and work on our mission to make #opensource better for the enterprises building software with it and the maintainers creating it!

@jodansmif I remember that about it. But whether it's from the first time I read it or a later reading it is hard to say... I read it annually for years. Probably due for a re-read. One of my favorite, if not most favorite, books ever.
Definitely the pattern we are trying to help folks embrace with @tidelift by giving the tools you need as an organization to define a catalog of open source dependencies for your applications but also, very importantly, human enhanced data from the creators of that software
the most common example of that behavior these days is the netflix-style 'paved roads,' which is to say an IT-tested and backed core platform which is recommended. if unique requirements force a team off that road, so be it, but then they're on their own for literally everything.
If you’re interested, you can read a little more on the job post at https://t.co/GCjhQ8s8mh and apply from there. Or feel free to shoot me a message here or via email (jeremy AT tidelift DOT com) if you've got questions or wanna know more. #hiring#remotework
In addition to hiring engineers @tidelift, I’m also looking to bring in someone to take on a leadership role on the eng team. You'd have a lot of responsibility around helping individuals on the team grow in their career, growing the team, and maturing our engineering processes
As with all of our roles, this is a remote-first role (US only at this time). I think that what we’re trying to do at Tidelift resonates well with a lot of engineering minded folks and so expect to get to talk with some amazing people as part of the hiring process for this.
