@CharlesJSturge@sentantiq All interpretation has a subjective component. To be fair, the closer one sticks to hard data, the less room for subjectivity. Humanities usually involves lots of interpretation and even prescription, latent or overt.

@CharlesJSturge@sentantiq Overtly political talks is the surface symptom. I know not to go to such talks at conferences. Its the deep ideological rot that pervades the not overtly ideological papers that I dislike.
Just like your type decry the classics scholarship of, say, the last few centuries.
@WassonWatch@JoshuaBarzon For most purposes, yes, but have you tried KJV as audio Bible? There is absolutely nothing better. KJV was translated with reading aloud in mind. It’s beautiful.
@TexasPreacher I’m indebted to understanding scripture well, to have it master me. YECism is as cultural and reflective of the culture of the day as anything else. I want to read and understand this book on its terms. Not mine.
