We should be honoring our veterans’ service and sacrifice.
Instead, MAGA Republicans want to make the largest cut to VA benefits in history so the super-wealthy can cheat on their taxes.
During the Obama-Biden administration, we put tough requirements on banks like Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank—including the Dodd-Frank Law to make sure the crisis we saw in 2008 would not happen again.
The last administration rolled back some of these requirements.
@ATTHelp Your technical support experience keeps getting worse and worse. Literally every time I have to remove and re-add a cell plan to my daughter’s watch, it’s a 1 hour nightmare on the phone. Why? Why can’t this just be self-service and automated?
@gruber re your discussion on productivity and working from home…I think you might enjoy this book. The western world extols extroversion but nearly half the population are actually introverts and do better when collaborating online than in person.

@gruber I use Tab Groups all the time on my work computer in Brave, to the point that I cannot keep organized without them. At home in Safari I barely use them because the UI isn’t designed to be quick/easy and is completely separate from the Tab UI. Chrome got this right, Apple didn’t.
@gruber@marcoarment not sure how good the canned stuff is, but this is the hop water we get at our local markets and it’s one of the best I’ve had. All the flavors are excellent.

@siracusa Just saying…I’d rather have USB-C on my iPhone than wireless only. Also, not sure how anyone would get ProRes video off the phone with any reasonable speed without USB-C 🙂.
@marcoarment@caseyliss@siracusa With all the discussion about going USB-C or wireless charging, I think you missed an important point. Wireless charging efficiency is way worse than wired. At Apple’s scale, it would be environmentally irresponsible to go wireless only.
@siracusa Are you sure? According to the last couple environmental reports on Apple’s site, the iPhones are getting more energy efficient, not less. The M1 transition helped the Mac do the same. Apple tries to gain energy efficiency where it can. It’s almost a feature of the products.
@siracusa Neither iPad nor Macbook Pro charge wirelessly, and I’d bet (but don’t know for sure) there are more iPhones out there than iPads or Macbooks Pro combined.
@siracusa I just wanted to point out that I don’t want to be forced into wasting that much more energy to charge my phone, especially if I’m charging off a battery pack or am in a power-limited situation.
I haven’t run tests myself, but I wonder if MagSafe is any less wasteful.
@siracusa Apple watch battery is about ~1.1Wh. iPhone 13 Pro is ~12Wh. Assume both last a day, iPhones use an order of magnitude more power (and there are more of them).
Wireless charging uses on average around 47% more power for the same charge (https://t.co/uR1q7oyE5w).
Republicans are getting very upset people keep retweeting this ad so I figured I would post for any of you who haven’t seen it yet and then I am going to retweet myself tonight.
