Kompany’s Bayern are one of the better laboratories for testing Flick’s press because their build-up is not dependent on a single goalkeeper configuration. Manuel Neuer can become an additional outfield player, but Bayern can also manipulate the first line through centre-back spacing, full-back height, midfield rotations and goalkeeper positioning.
The key difference is where the numerical superiority is created.
Kompany has one style, and that’s my main problem with him. He doesn’t adapt or switch to another style; he’s not flexible at all. We have many solutions in our squad to deal with different problems, but he mainly relies on individual brilliance from players like #9,#17, #14 & #6
I would personally try brown at right-back
He is a superb through ball passer and crosser especially In half space since olise is not crossing much it would be better to play brown as rightback
But kompany lack flexibility to try it
This game is a tactical chess match. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. So far, Arteta’s boys are winning the tactical battle, denying Chelsea access to dangerous areas. But CFC are finding ways through the back door. It’s still anyone’s game. ♟️⚽
Arsenal have defended Chelsea’s transitions very well this half. Chelsea find themselves with no advantage be the time they’ve crossed the half way line and slow play down to the point where they recover fully as a team.
Strong team actually. Only Bayern can hurt them this season. I see a lot of areas where only Bayern can truly thrive against them.
Note: Only if Davies and Musiala are available and fully fit without them we don't have chance.
@iiiniioluwa@atpetkov@XnDinesh Some people don’t understand what an average team is. That XI is capable of winning a lot of big games; it’s just that is’nt our day. We also need to prepare the players for more of these situations. We’ll see the advantage of that when the time comes(Karl, Saibari, and Brown).
Kompany should’ve used Bischof closer to Olise’s side so he could hurt them with his left foot. Instead, we played him like Pavlovic and relied too much on Olise. With Musiala back, this problem should be solved.
The draw is on Díaz. Hopefully, next time he scores that chances.
I thought we could rest our whole team and still put 5 past every team? Isn’t that what they were saying? Mfs underestimate how hard teams try when they play against us.
lucho’s performance today should be a warning sign that we urgently need his backup but the board implied that our squad is already well-equipped enough hence we don’t necessarily need it.
