@mediacitizenong I feel like taking action can seem easy in a sense. If a majority of service providers are big corporations they can easily abuse consumers and get away with it.
@austingw17 Initially, I believed that the FCC should heavily regulate the Internet like TV; however, your emphasis on informing people swayed my opinion. With media that people mostly produse I think it's important to put some responsibility back on them.
The FCC should regulate the internet, but not in the same way as TV networks. Since both are different forms of media, they need to address different demands. If there were no Internet regulations, consumers would be more likely to be abused by ISP's.(1) #MEDIA1801D04

@jed_wedder59480 One example can be shown through sports. People would once gather to listen to baseball on the radio, but because it moved to television gatherings happened less frequently once there was easier access.
@obeytechnology Shows like America Idol have regenerated popularity over time showing that they contribute to making intergenerational connections and strengthening communities. Although these shows weren't diverse, they did strengthen coutnerpublics to advocate and form their own types of media.
Cable in a few ways has disrupted our sense of community. Those who didn't have cable would be excluded from these communities and automatically made fun of or seen as poor.Cable also disrupted communities that preferred other media sources such as radio, books, etc. #MEDIA1801D04
@zhixi857 It also signifies that Nescafe is like a "pillar" amongst other coffee brands. If you think about it compared to other brands it has an array of items that are used by all ages.
@mediacitizenong@Obravo5115 it also looks like it's trying to insinuate that if you drink from the opposite brand you are consuming something "scary" or "bad". During Halloween one usually wears a costume to attempt to scare someone.
This ad is geared towards residents of New York. Especially those who are working and need an easy alternative to mattress shopping. The ad works as a fun puzzle to entertain and market their brand to residents who most likely don't have the time to shop for a bed. #MEDIA1801D04
@zhixi857@1eesauce False news is very rampant in society. As of recently it has become such a buzzword, that I would say it's false to claim it´s rare. I do agree that false news does not start with social media, and does not entirely harm our democracy or idea of freedom.
@mediacitizenong With rules I believe misinformation can still spread. any form of media can potentially cause mis/disinformation to spread. So what makes social media the more harmful option?
social media cultivates diverse perspectives on our democratic system. Overall, social media brings transparency in ways our rights are either infringed or upheld, thereby contributing to the enhancement of our democratic political system and idea on freedom. #MEDIA1801D04
Social media does play a role in fostering democracy and the principle of freedom by enabling self-expression for all. In a democratic society, which upholds human rights, it is essential that everyone can openly express their core beliefs. By embracing the concept of produsage,
