On October 12, 2023, 5 days after October 7, Hasan Piker had his last appearance on the Leftovers podcast. He spoke about the atrocities that Israel has been inflicting on the Palestinians for decades and Hasan broke into tears when discussing the death and funeral of the Palestinian-American journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh. Hasan also went on to declare that he will he always stand with the Palestinians, even if they retaliate against their violent oppressors:
"They went to her funeral and beat the shit out of people, and ripped the Palestinian flag off of her. Palestinians can't have a moment of peace in this fucking world. They can't even mourn the dead.
The IDF went in and beat the shit out of the Palestinians that were mourning her at her funeral, that were holding her casket, and ripped the Palestinian flag off of her casket. How is that allowed? How can that continue?
There are voices out there who see the brutality, who see the endless humiliation that Palestinian people have endured and I stand with them. I don't care. I will always stand with them even if there is a moment of violent retaliation.
They have nothing. They have no allies and people celebrate their destruction. It's happening right in front of our eyes. There is no equivalent. It is so horrifying that this can happen in the supposed 'only democracy in the Middle East.'"
it has been three years since october 7th, and i feel compelled to say something, but at the same time i am speechless.
for three years, we have watched palestinians be killed, displaced, starved, and deprived of healthcare, education, clean water, and basic human necessities. it is beyond me that people are still silent. it is also beyond me that it took so many people this long to find the “courage” to speak up.
never stop talking about palestine. never become numb to what is happening in gaza. i hope in my lifetime i get to see a free palestine. 🇵🇸
in my experience the people who have the most pretentious attitude are never actually people who are into weird obscure shit it’s always people who are into like the 5 most popular goth bands from the 1980s and think that makes them unique and special
I remember reading once that if you're encouraging a woman to change her behavior to prevent her from being raped, you're really saying "make sure he rapes the other woman."
There will always be a woman who is less sober, less secure, with fewer friends, walking in a darker part of town. We should all want her safe just as much as we want ourselves safe..
These girls, maybe 16, came to the cafe in actual clown makeup. One asked, "How much is a macaron?" And I said three dollars and she stared at me for a beat before flatly responding "That's absurd." If I were wearing clown makeup I wouldn't be calling too many things "absurd"
He literally called her after and asked “want me to give you a recollection of the entire night?” But now suddenly he was too intoxicated to properly remember anything and conveniently fell asleep during the rape. They’re trying so hard to cover their asses because they know they’re fucked and the evidence is going to prove they’re guilty. They’re all panicking.
