WNBA All-Star reserves are selected directly by the league's 15 head coaches.
Each coach votes for 12 reserves:
• 3 guards
• 5 frontcourt players
• 4 players of any position (from either conference)
Coaches are prohibited from voting for players from their own team.
The difference between Caitlin Clark and Alyssa Thomas’ responses couldn’t be clearer.
Both criticized the league… but the tone, accountability & overall messaging were wildly different.
One centered the game, the players, and uplifting the league.
The other… did not.

Caitlin Clark on incident with Alyssa Thomas:
"I did think it was a flagrant foul. Our reffing just needs to be better ... The league has to do better protecting our players."
"The harassment, the hate -- none of that is ok."
Her full comments:
People — especially reporters — need to stop pretending Caitlin Clark hasn’t denounced racism/hatred.
She has. Repeatedly.
Asking her to address these issues *again* is more performative than productive.
If you choose to ignore her past comments, that’s on *you* — not her.
