Obviously it's not all obstetric dances and placenta cakes, this group of clinicians and consumers are doing serious work and making widespread improvements in care through collaboration #pphvic@TheIHI@SaferCareVic#100000lives
We have completed LS2 for the PPH collab and I could not be more proud of our teams, 150 clinicians all working so hard to improve #pph care for families in Victoria #pphvic@TheIHI@SaferCareVic
My wildest dreams involve hospitals full of healthcare workers, spending their days providing individualised, patient centred care because they don't have to deal with all the other crap they usually do. #LISN is a step toward that! @northernhealth_
@mindbodymiko Thank you for sharing your story and having the balls to challenge the system! It's crazy we allow this culture to exist, it needs to stop if we're serious about #healthcareworker#wellbeing. Being repeatedly berated by surgeons certainly did not spark joy at work for me..
Just finished reading the heartbreaking autobiography of Dr Yumi Kadota @mindbodymiko. I was an RN in #interventionalcardiology for 18yrs, the repeated incidences of harassment, bullying and differential treatment to male colleagues resonated deeply.
One team took this on board after hearing from our wonderful lived experience experts at LS1 and a few days later tested & implemented having a designated midwife allocated to this role, one month on and the staff and patient feedback is nothing short of inspiring #wmty#pphvic
I am extremely proud to be part of the @SaferCareVic and @TheIHI PPH collaborative that has been asking 'What matters to you?' since we kicked off in April. One answer was 'better communication and support during PPH' and our fantastic teams listened #pphvic#wmty22#wmty
It can be as simple as using their chosen name, charging their phone or putting 4 sugars in their tea, asking a patient 'What matters to you?' is the first step toward providing care that is truly patient centred #Wmty22
This What Matters to You? Day, Victorian clinicians and consumers share their thoughts on why asking ‘what matters’ is so important in improving experiences and outcomes for older people. #WMTY#AgeFriendly#100000lives@TheIHI@WmtyWorld
A question from audience - 'is there one thing that health services can do to ensure the Indigenous community feel safe and welcome in our services [if not ACCHO]?' Brown responds - understand, take time to listen. If you don't know the answer, be honest & find out #GiantSteps22
NACCHO CEO Pat Turner AM shares the four priorities for reform to #CloseTheGap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at #GiantSteps22 (see steps below)
@SaferCareVic
At today's @SaferCareVic’s #GiantSteps22 panel our deadly Executive Director, Sheree Lowe, reiterated what we know to be true - Aboriginal health has to be in Aboriginal hands in order to close the healthcare gap. Systems should value Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing.

Had a fab time co-presenting my PhD research with @JayneHowley, and meeting lots of fellow consumer reps, at #GiantSteps22 today.
