For our @IslayMuseum@StAndrewsOVW Heritage project P67 have been learning about the Kildalton Cross. They created an animation of the story of the cross and sang the Gaelic backing track Seallaibh Curaigh Eòghainn, thanks @rcsWACI @abc_OCTF

From July 22-24, we joined the STI Cross-Sectoral Fair to show how we are using technology in our conservation efforts! 🌿
We conducted nest checks using an endoscope, collected data using CyberTracker📱, and had a live display of energy consumption on Aldabra!

The hump’s fur also reflects sunlight, reducing the amount of heat absorbed by the camel’s body and helping to keep the camel cool in hot environments. More here: https://t.co/XE5wIE23YQ
The hump stores fat, which can be metabolized to generate heat when the camel is too cold and released to cool down when the camel is too hot; it acts as an insulator, preventing the camel from losing too much body heat in the cold and conserving body heat in hot environments.
I use this approach in Year 8 Science, with adaptations. The pupils really engage, enjoy comparing the Outer Hebrides with us in the Seychelles. We are just completing a manifesto for self, school, community and country. The resources are invaluable.
