It’s truly astonishing—and deeply troubling—that three Supreme Court Justices were willing to side with the idea of allowing non-citizens on Virginia’s voter rolls. Voting in U.S. elections is a sacred right and privilege reserved for American citizens, and this shouldn’t be up for debate. A ruling to uphold election integrity should have been a unanimous 9-0 decision, not a close 6-3. The fact that nearly a third of the Court sees things differently raises serious questions about their commitment to protecting the integrity of our democratic process.

Allowing non-citizens to participate in American elections undermines the very foundation of representative government. It opens the door to foreign influence and diminishes the voice of legitimate citizens. How can any Justice, tasked with upholding the Constitution, justify a stance that so clearly conflicts with the principles of sovereignty and citizenship? This isn’t a partisan issue—it’s about defending the basic rights of Americans to control their own government.

The ruling from SCOTUS is a victory for now, but the fact that it wasn’t unanimous sends a chilling message. Every state should take steps to ensure only citizens are registered to vote, and it’s high time for a comprehensive approach to safeguard American elections at every level. In 2025, there’s an opportunity to bring real reform that ensures voting rights remain exclusive to American citizens. This issue is far from over, and those who value a fair, transparent, and citizen-driven democracy must remain vigilant.
