@WKCosmo Personally I want ai to do all the boring things in my life : laundry , dishes , maybe moving data around and organize it but not do my science for me
@WKCosmo The issue is that unlike astronomy where the model that there are instrument builders and analyzers , there is reallly a tremendous amount of work that goes into algorithms , calibrations , reconstruction , operations , trigger development etc that you really can't
@WKCosmo My department uses its overhead for startup , lab renovation, and other research related items . The idea that there are billions of dollars being spent on dei or related activity from overhead return is just false
@MaximZiatdinov It’s mostly social at this point , the internet and preprints give you the results you use to have to go to the conference or wait for the publication for
@WKCosmo It has nothing to do with equity . It is because they don’t want to show you the comments which may identify the individual students and not provide the anonymity they promise to the students . Don’t you have something better to do than to make up reasons to be mad ! lol
A great political step supporting P5 for continued @CERN US cooperation. This hopefully will enable @FCC_study and a potential @MuonCollider sited in the US with support from Europe. Now we just need to find funding support as well! https://t.co/DsxscUhbwG
