According to reports Earlier today, on July 24, 2024, NORAD detected, tracked, and intercepted two Russian TU-95 bombers and two PRC H-6 Strategic Bombers operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone. NORAD fighter jets from both the United States and Canada were dispatched to conduct the intercept. According to military officials, the Russian and PRC aircraft remained within international airspace and did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace. This activity by Russian and PRC aircraft in the Alaska ADIZ is not considered a direct threat.
