U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Kevin J. Jarrard met with Venezuelan Chief of Defense Gen. Gustavo González López and other senior leaders today to conduct an assessment of Simón Bolívar International Airport and coordinate relief efforts in Venezuela.
Maj. Gen. Jarrard is the senior #SOUTHCOM official on the ground and is working closely with partners to plan, coordinate, and direct the U.S. military’s support to the rapid, life-saving movement of response personnel, equipment, and humanitarian assistance into affected areas.
