Excited to share the publication of my first publication in AJEM! @ELS_Emerg_Med
The word “quiet” was not associated with increased patient volumes or perception of increased patient volumes unless staff had a pre-existing belief the word matters.

With so many breakthrough cases, some might wonder why we still should be pushing vaccination -- in particular that third dose.

It was crazy how Francisco was always two steps of everyone else... I remember as early as May of 2020, barely even after the very first wave, he was already thinking about the need to study Remdesivir in an outpatient setting
This interesting lab work shows that Omicron may not be so great at growing in lung tissue.
It's the second such study.
Though it may be wishful thinking (ok, it is wishful thinking), could this variant really be less pathogenic?
Time will tell
A few of my #TxID mantras:
1. Don’t cover, discover (thanks, @FranciscoMarty_ )
2. Oral, if possible
3. Shorter is best, but treat “long enough”
4. +ve culture does not =clinical infection
5. Doing nothing is doing something
6. Doing nothing is not the same as not doing anything
Going through first week of medical school this week, there were so many things I wanted to share with him. Especially thinking of you today Francisco as I get my white coat!

Today we lost someone truly special. He was a selfie enthusiast, chocolate connoisseur, and dear friend and mentor to myself and countless others. Thank you for all of your kindness, and all that you've taught me about medicine and life. We will miss you so much @FranciscoMarty_
