It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the vice president of EIDS— Dr Emmanuel Nsutebu who was a pillar in UAE’s ID community.

He will forever be remembered for his exemplary approach to his patients & colleagues.

When I was an ID fellow, my late mentor @FranciscoMarty_ said that I would establish the 1st fungal reference lab in the UAE. I remember thinking— maybe someone else. But wouldn’t it be nice if it was me?

He’s not here to witness his vision coming true— but this is for him 🤍

1/n Measles needs to be taken seriously. It is among the most contagious viruses we know of + unvaccinated child has a high risk of contracting it during an outbreak. In such case that child has 20% likelihood of hospitalization, and also risks deafness, pneumonia, encephalitis
