Wow. Buzzing from @PCRSUK conference and back home to some hungry fish! I am blown away by the numbers, the speakers, the sponsors and Red Hot Irons for being our rock. Thank you from the bottom of my โค for making it so successful. Can't wait till next year #Project600#PCRS2023
Excited to be planning a patient event at Wyke Library talking to patients with COPD and getting their voice heard. We just need the plumber to finish off the meeting room! Hot drinks and warmth provided #warmspace@Here4BDCC
Ten years since my asthma improved, the next part of my improving health story happened today. I got my student nurse uniform ๐ @asthmalungscot@myasthmastory
Found this under a bed this morning - A driver diagram , 8 YEARS OLD, looking to improve the diagnostic experience of patients with suspected COPD. I'd like to believe we'd made progress but some days feel like we're going backwards ๐
Fewer things make me happier than checking inhaler technique and it being done flawlessly. Patient had clearly watched @asthmalunguk videos I'd sent him @Accurx@PCRSUK
@rcgp Thank you for the opportunity to speak & cough(!) last night, with @DrSteveHolmes Dr Kevin Griffith Jones, Dr Gail Allsopp and Oli Munn. Lots of take home messages and even managed to slip in some asthma mythbusting resources @PCRSUK https://t.co/10sjDtgxeg
@athleticpie@pcrs@AsthmaRightCare At our practice we have a whole system approach from the moment the patient tries to requests online or asks a receptionist why their SABA can't be ordered. This triggers an appt, discussion on what good asthma control looks like & inhaler technique. In MOST cases it's a win win!
In this issue of ERJOR, Noorduyn et al. add data to the growing literature showing that SABA overuse in asthma is both common and associated with severe exacerbations. It is time to take note and act to tackle this global issue. https://t.co/QDUA2zggRq @PCRS@AsthmaRightCare
Request from Immunology clinic to 'prescribe SABA for wheeze'. Lots of work still to do #mythbusting#goodasthmacare Myth #4 โIโm just allergic to some things...otherwise Iโm okโ | Primary Care Respiratory Society https://t.co/Z3OFViknZu
Last night at @BradfordRespNe2 @TCapper78 IDd 4 'Golden Behaviours' for inhaler technique that we know will help AND we CAN do. I'm taking on 'opportunistic inhaler technique check of staff' just ordered this and have some FUN ๐ #leaderboard@PCRSUK@DarushAttar@Garry42779
At @BradfordRespNe2 @TCapper78 about to go off piste with some Focus Mapping @bjfogg on inhaler technique. No slides just pure unadulterated, interactive F2F meeting heaven ๐ #magicwand#inhalertechnique feel free to join in @PCRSUK
Privileged to be a mentor. Always learn something. Today - a mini goals & football on the desk; a prompt to safety net. If ball's not in the net it might lead to a sleepless night worrying something's been missed #safetynet#youcome first #burnoutprevention
This morning I'll be asking Qs at the staff meeting 'when prescribing an inhaler do you ALWAYS ensure patient shown hoe to use it?', 'When prescribing insulin.....' I know what the answers will be but WHY do we still let this happen? ๐ #inhalertechnique
A friend once told me that you will KNOW if an egg is off. This morning I can confirm that you will just KNOW. Actually considering nasal douching to get the smell out of my nostrils ๐คข๐คฎ
