Got a kid who is a #pickyeater? I do! And it is TOUGH! But, thankfully, @kdahlsgaard is here to help us learn how to help our picky eaters eat, well, more! Here's our interview: https://t.co/QNpUccgiLR
For those who have asked at #AAAAI22 about our newly published SOFAA - Scale of Food Allergy Anxiety - it’s free for clinicians & researchers to download at https://t.co/1D5IR8Fla4 #foodallergy#Anxiety
Every time I hear @kdahlsgaard speak I feel inspired, excited and most important, full of HOPE! Thank you @CBSDSchools for a timely and necessary PD day!
@UpperDubSuper @PasaSupts@PADeptofEd@sleepfoundation 1. Ban most homework; research shows little support for its efficacy beyond reading 2. Start MS & HS days at 9:30, bc science tells us teen brains like to wake up around 8. 3. Refer to the chronic sleep deprivation experienced by teens, but caused by adult policies, as torture.
With members of our military after the honor of speaking about #hope at the @CBSDSchools second annual community breakfast. Thanks for your service to the country. And thanks to Superintendent @john_kopicki for bringing me out.
Thursday night 12/5 the mighty Food Allergy Bravery Clinic returns for a second parent education night on managing #foodallergy#anxiety. Sold out! So you’ll have to sneak in! 😬 @ChildrensPhila
Recently, Dr. Katherine Dahlsgaard & Nurse Practitioner Megan Lewis teamed up to teach parents about helping their children overcome their #foodallergy anxieties. We have another session on 12/5. RSVP today, space is limited! https://t.co/IXujitdkHb
I was just tweeting about the best way to help overly #anxious patients improve their ability for accurate risk assessment. Here’s another example. #cbtworks https://t.co/80FLOMmsId via @phillyinquirer
@AllergyKidsDoc More accurate risk assessment is a critical goal for both parents & children if the anxiety is so excessive as to be unhelpful. At Food Allergy Bravery Clinic, we find best success comes via emphasis on the B over the C part of CBT #exposuretherapy
This is so important for families w #foodallergy! The anxiety from perceived risk in various situations often greatly exceeds the actual risk for ANY reaction, let alone a severe reaction.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is one path towards reclaiming control of these thoughts.
“Remember the 3 Bs: Be Boring about Barf” was my main contribution to this funny & meticulously researched article by @MarnieHanel who told me I said “barf” or “vomit” 85 times (!) during our interview. #exposuretherapy @ChildrensPhila https://t.co/8if0rjk34b
Based on @JSchleiderPhD research I've used concept of "growth mindset" in my practice to enhance positive expectation & motivation for change
50+ yrs in practice & impact beyond expectation!

I vow to spend the month upping my game on modeling accurate risk assessment for my patients. And lots of in-session exposures to dog licks are coming my way, I can tell. Which I’m looking forward to, of course. https://t.co/qtZZ9fosWG
For families with #pickyeaters, dinner time can be a nightmare. Dr. Katherine Dahlsgaard, Clinical Director of our #Anxiety Behaviors Clinic, spoke with @CBSPhilly about new ways families can treat their picky eaters at home: https://t.co/6weULeD0vh
