I LOVE BOOSTERS: big fan of Boots Riley's creativity and skill, and thankfully that's in full effect here. Such a vibrant, funny, imaginative and satirical takedown of capitalism, led by terrific performances and energetic direction throughout. Had a blast with it. #ILoveBoosters
Kenji Tanigaki’s The Furious is astonishing. I’ve been desperate for a film that moves fight choreo forward and I can honestly say, I’ve never seen anything like the way bodies move, collide and stack atop one another in this. It’s like Kensuke Sonomura unearthed a new element.
Letterboxd Video Store is opening on Wednesday. Their first batch of Unreleased Gems includes Alexander Ullom’s IT ENDS from SXSW, Yandy Laurens’ Indonesian Oscar entry SORE: A WIFE FROM THE FUTURE, Diego Céspedes’ Chilean Oscar entry THE MYSTERIOUS GAZE OF THE FLAMINGO from Cannes/Toronto, and Anurag Kashyap’s KENNEDY from Cannes.
Everyone left the HAMNET showings of Burbank 16 shellshocked and heavily sobbing into a lobby of children dressed as FIVE NIGHTS AS FREDDY animatronics which is an experience you can’t really replicate at home
HAMNET: Sharing a movie with a room full of strangers is my favorite drug no matter what. Sharing a movie with a room full of strangers having a mental breakdown? Straight in my veins.
My beloved Jessie Buckley getting a standing ovation at #MVFF opening night.

Before ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER, advance in your Teyana Taylor studies and watch her in A.V. Rockwell’s wonderful A THOUSAND AND ONE. She’ll take your breath away with her range…
Paul Thomas Anderson’s #OneBattleAfterAnother is a landmark, arresting work of genius & a revolutionary masterpiece that’s nothing short of miraculous. DiCaprio, Penn, Taylor, Del Toro & Infiniti are an unbeatable force.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for: Park Chan-wook’s NO OTHER CHOICE has joined the #TIFF50 lineup 👀
The film, starring #TIFFTribute honouree Lee Byung Hun, will have its North American Premiere at the Festival.
Theres a really loving quote spoken by Ralph Fiennes in #28YearsLater thats probably the best quote in movies ive heard since a while back.
And in context of the scene that follows, at the hands of a less experienced (filmmaker) it could easily elicit laughter, but Boyle made it one of the best cinematic moments in recent years about confronting death & finding peace within it.
This is the kind of moments that reminds me why we love & breathe movies.
