Stuck on 151 @CTA while another accordion bus can not turn onto Jackson due to illegally parked car accords from the Wills Tower. Traffic backed up for blocks. 10 minutes no cops.
Illinois State Senate resolution named today “Jim Edgar Day” as it is the former late great Governor’s birthday. He was an advocate and early supporter of the RTA. Happy birthday and thanks Governor for your distinguished service to @StateofIllinois! 👏

Just in time for the 4th of July, Metra today unveiled a specially painted locomotive commemorating the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding.
The locomotive is the 26th of 42 remanufactured locomotives that Metra ordered from Progress Rail Locomotives of La Grange. The new locomotives, designated as SD70-MACHs, are former freight locomotives that are improved and reconfigured for passenger use with refurbished, upgraded, or new components.
The special locomotive was painted by Progress Rail using a design by Metra Senior Graphic Designer Falecia Woods with input from the operations team.

What a day.
Today at the Vatican, I met Pope Leo XIV & presented him with a @IlliniFootball jersey: No. 14, "Leo" on the back.
I never imagined there'd be a Southsider leading 1.4b Catholics around the world. Chicago shows up in the most unexpected places. Very grateful.
"Pinch me" moment! Last night I got to meet and speak with Chicago-area native Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican and gifted him a vintage RTA/White Sox t-shirt!! @Pontifex@dailyherald https://t.co/n2A0YbICmv
