1st reason to read thro the whole Bible regularly: We cherry pick our favorite ideas from the Bible to create a theology of our making, not God's. Reading the entirety regularly confronts us with teaching we don't like and keeps us listening to God rather than just our own hearts

We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.
In the gospel of Luke, the prodigal son doesn't return home because of a renewed love for his father. He comes back home simply to survive because he ran out of money and is starving. And his father is perfectly fine with that.
Just come home. God just wants you home.
