Iran shattered its own memorandum of understanding, attacked commercial tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, and got hit with fresh CENTCOM strikes on more than 𝟖𝟎 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 for it. Sen. Adam Schiff’s response? File another resolution to stop the president from finishing the job.

Schiff filed a new War Powers Resolution arguing the renewed military action against Iran is “𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘧𝘶𝘭” because Trump never sought Congressional authorization — the same argument he’s made through 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 on ending the conflict, every one of which either failed or produced only a symbolic rebuke.

The backdrop matters: Iran agreed in writing not to attack tankers in the Strait or charge tolls for passage. It broke that promise within days. The U.S. is now redirecting and disabling vessels trying to run the blockade and striking the infrastructure Iran depends on to keep threatening global shipping.

Schiff wants Congress to tie the president’s hands while the regime that triggered this is still firing on tankers.
