“It’s fantastic when you can have one of those interior players be really, really good in the passing game,” Sean Payton said after Harvey exploded for 5 receptions and 51 yards against Houston in Week 9.

The Broncos have found purpose with rookie RJ Harvey this season despite also having JK Dobbins, who is the 3rd leading rusher in the NFL this season.

That purpose has found itself in the passing game, and this matchup on TNF is another one where I expect Harvey to see some air yards.

Last week, much of Harvey’s receiving game was pre-scripted. Sean Payton eluded that he knew that the Texans play Cover 4 Zone at one of the highest rates in the NFL, and he drew up a game plan in which he felt “RJ would have opportunities.”

And now in Week 10, he gets the Raiders who deploy Cover 4 at the 8th highest rate in the NFL, and zone coverage overall at the HIGHEST (83.6%).

Harvey’s splits vs zone/man this season:

Vs Zone: .30 TPRR / 2.01 YPRR (leads team), 16.3 rec yards per game, 73 routes run

Vs Man: .22 TPRR / 1.06 YPRR, 2.1 rec yards per game, 18 routes run

The matchup against Las Vegas also helps as they’ve leaked receptions and yards to running backs at a considerable rate this season.

Over the last 5 weeks an opposing running back in every game has cleared this line against LV:

I like the thought of Sean Payton and the Broncos continuing to use Harvey here. After running a season high 16 routes last week, there will certainly be some designed opportunities for him to cook, and this prop could hit in just one catch.
