Working on a DSA course for YouTube with high quality voice overs and “animated” graphics. I recorded 5 videos so far but I promised myself never to return to content creation until I have a product to market and sell. I took a pit stop to finish my app.

@DThompsonDev If I had to give advice for starting on the self taught path today, I would say BUILD THINGS. Stop watching tutorials and actually go find things that interest you to build.

@DThompsonDev What made a big difference for me is project based learning. When I did all that volunteer work for SA-MP servers years back, not only did I learn how to write programs, I also was unknowingly building a portfolio that helped me get my government contractor gig years later.

It is crazy how hard it was for him to find a job. He’s arguably more talented than myself, but lacks the on paper experience. He’s Senior level in skill, but Junior level in experience. He has a good portfolio, but recruiters always ghosted him after seeing little experience

I’m so happy rn. A long time dev friend of mine finally got his first offer. He worked his butt off to get here and I’m so happy for him. I been coding with him since I was 17 so 10 years now.
