We have serious momentum after the BCDC Vote!🎉
But opponents are trying to force an "advisory vote" to set back (or even kill) the HT project.
Lets all email the Oakland City Council (NOW) & speak during their next mtg (ON ZOOM JULY 5). Details here https://t.co/D8D111g8tP 1/6
@MGsquared @Eastbayluv_510 Is there something about a project involving sports that makes people think in terms of competition, and win-lose? When the reality is we are working on development with the A’s, and also working on other developments with other people on other sites. They are not in conflict.

@Eastbayluv_510 The the coliseum is not the only site we are working on. Council has approved terms for development of Howard Terminal, a project with nursing school downtown, and next week I’m advancing a major zero-emission truck project in West Oakland. Today was AASEG’s event on coliseum.
Building on this point, spare me every person who says “Oakland is letting the A’s slip away! They need to work harder!” F that. It’s not Oakland’s job to build stadiums, we’ve been burned there before. Let the A’s push a real plan and find a fair way to get it done. Or not.
Know what would make a big difference for A’s getting Howard Terminal approved? Owner John Fisher spending 5mins to call Oakland electeds, or releasing a statement saying why he thinks HT could be great for the city. He hasn’t, and likely never will. That says a lot. 🤷♂️
The Howard Terminal Ballpark Project represents an opportunity for @Oakland to realize the benefits of well-paying jobs, affordable housing, infrastructure & environmental improvements. SPUR advocates for ways to ensure the project reaches its potential.

In the HT CEQA appel, oral argument has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 7. The scheduling order itself isn't downloadable, so we didn't see the time, but that should appear on the court's basic calendar. Most oral arguments can viewed via videostream.
-City of Oakland has secured *$375M* in grants
-Design phase moves forward without delay
-MEGA grant was not a sole intended source for funding the project
-More than $100M in grants are still in the works
-City well positioned to secure more funding

@sirvegetable The City has raised $321M excluding the MEGA grant. Getting $0 isn't ideal, but they were aware that this could happen.
Focus is now about bridging the gap via a limited obligation bond, other grants, and/or developer capital.
City's Memo from September:

And just like that, City of Oakland provides another approval that will help dedicate hundreds of millions of dollars for infrastructure around site A’s want to build their ballpark.
Please people, stop yelling that Oakland “isn’t doing anything” on helping A’s get a ballpark…
We are honored to unveil the 'Rooted in Power' jersey in collaboration with @DrHueyPNewton, the All Power to The People Project LLC, and @meybaofficial1.
Jersey drops to members on Tuesday (12.6) and the general public on Wednesday (12.7).
#OaklandFirstAlways
All Republicans, none from the Bay Area, half aren’t even from California. Why exactly does a congressman from Alabama have an opinion on what grants Oakland can apply for?
EOSA at a new low when they need to get out-of-state MAGA congressmen to hawk their talking points
Congressman Doug LaMalfa (CA-01) sent a letter to Pete Buttigieg expressing concern over Howard Terminal. Several other reps signed on. https://t.co/WKqrLcTRD7
