To date, Ukraine is investigating over 70 proceedings into Russia’s war crimes against 🇺🇦 cultural heritage. For the first time, Ukrainian investigators and prosecutors working on such cases participated in a specialized training organized by @UNESCO.

Through the destruction and looting of our cultural property, Russia is deliberately erasing Ukrainian identity, aiming to destroy not only our past but also our future. The knowledge prosecutors gained during these 4 days of training, alongside military and civilian experts, will be crucial to their efforts to break the Kremlin's cycle of impunity.

I am deeply grateful to UNESCO and, personally, to the Head of Desk in Ukraine (@unesco_kyiv), Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi, for organizing this training. UNESCO's experience, particularly its history of contributing to the work of the ICC, is invaluable in documenting and investigating Russia’s attacks on our culture and identity.

Russia continues its attempts to annihilate Ukraine and Ukrainians. A new insidious attack on peaceful cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Pokrovsk has left more than 20 people dead and dozens wounded.

As of 12:30 p.m., at least 9 people have been killed and 33 wounded in Kyiv alone. The Okhmatdyt Hospital, a unique facility dedicated exclusively to treating children, was damaged. A section of a residential building was completely destroyed. There may still be people trapped under the rubble. Rescue operations are ongoing.

In Kryvyi Rih, 10 people were killed and more than 40 injured. The enemy fired two missiles at a civilian object.

Three people were killed in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.

One person was wounded in Dnipro, and another in the Kyiv region.

Today’s events are horrific proof of the Kremlin’s genocidal intent. For the first time since Hitler, genocide is being committed in the center of Europe. The world has no right to turn a blind eye.

I was pleased to meet my new Dutch colleague, @MinisterBZ Caspar Veldkamp, in Kyiv yesterday.

I am grateful that Minister Veldkamp paid his first foreign visit to Ukraine. This is a significant sign of respect and the Netherlands' unwavering support for Ukraine.

During our talks in Kyiv, we discussed additional military aid, with a particular emphasis on air defense. Strong decisions are critical to protecting Ukrainian lives and maintaining long-term peace and stability in Europe.

I am grateful to the Netherlands for working with partners to provide Ukraine with one more Patriot system and investing in the procurement of weapons from Ukrainian arms manufacturers.

We also discussed Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations and the expected outcomes of the NATO Summit in Washington.
