@ASABpod You still have to pick like, a place where You will be stationed, and that can be either specific or general,
but what your feed is made up of and who you interact with is up to you just the same as on twitter.
@ASABpod re: mastodon, there are definitely instances/servers that are primarily based around one idea, but you can still follow and interact with anyone regardless of where they are, so I could be on an art instance and follow people on science and language instances etc with no issues.
Piece I did for @PolarLightsZine of Snow Buntings and a Rough-legged Hawk. There is one extra bird in here... if you find it and figure out what it is, let me know! >:-)
@HonkIfUrHoary I generally start with as clear a photo as I can uploaded to iNaturalist to see what the computer vision thinks it is, and then do my own research from there via BugGuide and wait for experts to chime in on my photo as well.
@JBEcology I got his book for Christmas and have been constantly referring to it in wonder and amusement ever since. Learned about new insects to love and developed a deeper appreciation for my old favorites.
I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing with us.
When comparing one site that is "restored" to another that did not need restoration, what do you call that other site? "Non-restored" makes it seem like it's not restored but needs it. Natural? Something else?
