Peaceful protest is the right of every American but this attack on our Capitol will not be tolerated and those involved will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I cannot think of a meaner disease than one that demands its victims die alone. It puts us in crisis then forbids us to congregate.
But it cannot keep us from praying. It cannot keep God from acting.
It cannot keep brave men and women from fighting for the lives of the sick.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
We may not get to go to church this morning but let there be no mistaking, we still ARE the church. We to whom Christ is Savior & Lord have no inconsequential calling in this crisis. He has given us access to approach the throne of grace with BOLDNESS. He has given us His Word.
This afternoon I joined @realDonaldTrump and @Mike_Pence in praying with Pastors from around the country. America is and always will be one nation under God. During this time I’m reminded by Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” #TogetherApart
