https://t.co/D448TBk79S Really cool result from Nicholl+ confirming X-ray QPEs can pop out of TDE disks (confirming work by e.g. @joheenc ). This strongly supports QPEs are produced by star-disk collisions, i.e. "EMRI+TDE = QPE" scenario we've been developing w/ Itai Linial.

NICER Light Leak Repair is one step closer with launch of repair kit on NG-21

We have worked with 3 astronauts- all completed the repair in the JSC NBL within 1 hour.

We designed the repair to be done as task to a larger EVA. We expect the repair work to NICER to take < 1 hour out of a 6-7 hour EVA.
