Summary of Trump’s speech to the UN today:
1. Your countries all suck.
2. None of you know what you are doing.
3. The US is better at everything.
4. All because of me.
5. I’m right about everything.
6. You should listen to me & do what I say.
7. And give me lots of awards.
In case you’re unaware, multiple reports have been lodged with the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) targeting Tash Aw, a Malaysian author whose work was longlisted for the 2005 Man Booker Prize. Conservative groups, and right-wing moral advocates, are attempting to have his latest book, The South, banned in Malaysia. Their objections stem from the book’s depiction of a gay relationship set on a Malaysian farm, which they deem immoral in a Muslim polity like Malaysia. These groups are actively coordinating efforts to submit mass complaints to the KDN, pushing for the book to be prohibited in the country.
I’m pleasantly surprised to learn that these right-wing folks might actually be reading books, though I doubt it—they’ve probably just heard about the gay theme in the book and lost their minds over it. It reminds me of that infamous claim by the former Iranian president, who said there are no gay people in Iran, implying that all Muslim societies don’t have them either.
I thought you’d find this interesting since not many people are aware of this campaign. It’s yet another blow to writers in Malaysia. Like I said many times, the arts in Malaysia is now totally under the control of the moral police, just like those found under the Taliban. They are officially called The Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice. Can we have a similar department under KDN?
Thank you for reading and watch how they will twist this post into naming me as a gay supporter. To set the record straight, I am a supporter of free expression among the arts in Malaysia and against needless censorship. Censorship closes the mind, and we have plenty of that in present Malaysia. #Censorship #Malaysia #FreedomOfExpression
The police investigation of Seputeh MP @teresakok is intimidation against an elected rep for speaking out for the people. She was simply and responsibly doing her job as MP in expressing valid concerns by business owners over a minister's proposal to mandate halal certification.

Most non Muslims in Malaysia will agree with this speaker. It is also true most Muslims in Malaysia support discrimination against non Muslims and want to convert them. They refer to it as reversion rather than conversion. . Most Chinese and Indian are oblivious to what is happening around them.

In the presence of so much displacement worldwide, what can we do to uphold human rights in our own country? How can we do better? Tune in to find out
Imagine being so hateful that when a chef/cook from a different faith than yours cooks in a Halal restaurant you deliberately took a photo/video complaining about a non-Muslim person cooking your food's jewelry.
The innocent chef/cook subsequently lost his job when said post goes viral. This is not only cyberbullying that led to someone losing his income/business, it is discrimination based on race and the cook's constitutional right to express his faith in his daily life.
The restaurant should've just released a statement saying their food is certified halal or in process to get halal certification to assure everyone, no issue.
We need Anti-Discrimination Act to standardise this. Unacceptable behaviour. If Muslims can wear kopiah etc to work, non-Muslims can wear symbolic jewelry in their daily lives too. No need to disturb people's rice bowls.
