December 25th, 2023 was not the first time a group of jihadists in Nigeria targeted innocent Christians.

On December 4, 2011, at least 4 bombs went off in a Catholic Church near Abuja, killing at least 39 people.

The deadliest bombing took place near Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Madalla, where worshipers celebrated a Christmas Day mass. One of the bombers Kabiru Sokoto was arrested and he escaped. He was later found in Shettima’s house!

Another bomb exploded near an evangelical Christian church in the central city of Jos, where clashes between Muslims and Christians are frequent. Officials say a police officer guarding the area was fatally shot around the time of the explosion.

In the northeastern state of Yobe, residents in Gadaka say a bomb blew up near a church during Christmas services. There were no immediate reports of deaths. A fourth attack took place in the Yobe capital of Damaturu, where a car bomb killed three near secret police headquarters.

You don't fall in love and start trying to date the person, then forcing the relationship to work in spite of who they are. "Falling in love" is just emotional attraction. They may not be right for you and fat chance they don't feel the same way. Emotions mislead a lot and that is why you keep forcing yourself to make things work even if they are toxic because "I still love him/her." You are just emotionally attracted to them.

What you should do instead is find someone that exude the values you like. Someone who has solid personal values, has family values and thrives in their femininity/masculinity, then you love and commit to them. To love is a choice - a choice to invest yourself in another person and build an intimate relationship with them to the exclusion of others.

Date people for their values not your feelings. Feelings is not love.

It is false to assert that President Bola Tinubu is the first Nigerian President to appoint a Chief of Staff from his ethnicity.

The office of the Chief of Staff was created by President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999. It did not exist in Nigeria's Presidency before 1999, and the Nigerian Constitution does not recognise the office.

President Obasanjo appointed a fellow Yoruba from Kwara, in the person of Abdullahi Mohammed, a retired major general. Not only was the Chief of Staff under Obasanjo a fellow Yoruba, but the Deputy Chief of Staff under Obasanjo, Prince Olusola Akanmode, was also a fellow Yoruba.

The immediate past Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, is Fulani, like his boss, General Buhari. And his predecessor, Abba Kyari, was Kanuri, as was General Buhari's mother.

What we should be concerned about is whether or not the persons who are appointed by President Tinubu are qualified. And to me, a former Speaker is eminently qualified for the job.

There will be more than enough for us in the opposition to use in opposing Tinubu. But whenever we do, our criticism must be based on truth, to the best of our knowledge.
