Important lessons to remember tuwing may bagyo.

- Storm signals 1-5 don't indicate the amount of rainfall, but the wind speeds of a tropical cyclone. Kahit hindi typhoon or super typhoon ang isang bagyo, magdadala parin ito ng matinding epekto sa lugar na tatamaan nito.

@oneandtwenty00 yes po. for the specialized warning po for typhoon, it maybe a good idea but also can create confusion, for example for Typhoon Ulysses, hindi po siya direct hit sa Cagayan Valley but the impacts of heavy rains are severe because of tail end of cold front.

@oneandtwenty00 Actually we have heavy rainfall warnings issued by PAGASA, and we have color codes for that. Yellow, Orange, and Red. Hindi lang siya ginagamit for tropical cyclones, ginagamit din ito kapag mayroong thunderstorms dahil sa iba pang weather systems like habagat, ITCZ, amihan, etc.

@Hansha_xx The mountains are important indeed. Although we're not really sure for Sierra Madre as a storm/typhoon barrier. I recommend to check this one from Sir BA Racoma. On their unpublished study, they found something interesting on typhoons and Sierra Madre. :)

As much as I love our mountain ranges at napakahalaga ngang protektahan sila, I hope this doesn't always make us complacent.

Kapag magbungguan ang bagyo at bundok, all that energy has to go somewhere.

Imagine na ang bagyo ay isang bloke ng keso, tapos ang bundok ay grater.

- Disaster Risk Reduction Management should be funded or funds must be reallocated since every year we have tropical cyclones, earthquakes, and unexpected volcanic activity.
- Climate change response should not be a clout but a practice.

- Hindi ulan ang direktang dahilan ng pagkawala ng buhay sa bawat bagyo na dumadaan, aksidente mula sa epekto ng ulan tulad ng pagbaha, flashfloods, landslides, at daluyong (storm surge).
