Today, I celebrate not only a decorated soldier, but a wonderful man and dear friend, Captain Frank Livolsi. Frank was a Captain with the Army's 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (The Blackhorse) and my escort officer when I toured Viet Nam.
Frank was a true American hero whose courage, leadership, and devotion to his fellow soldiers earned him many commendations, including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal for Valor, Republic of Viet Nam Gallantry Cross with Palm, National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, and Viet Nam Campaign Medal.
Beyond his remarkable military service, Frank was a loyal friend whose strength, kindness, and character left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. I will always be grateful for the time we shared and for our friendship that endured until the very end.
Happy Birthday in Heaven, My Captain. I love you. ❤️🇺🇸
