Would you like to do a storybook walk? I just added a storybook walk edition of School is More Than a Building.
It‘s ready to go. Just cut off the spine, laminate, and display. Enjoy!

Ever wanted to know how artists tweak an image using #AI? Here is the progression video where I show all of the prompts/changes needed to make an image. This image was made with #Adobe Photoshop Beta.

Why am I worried about #AI taking over my job as a children's book illustrator? Because it is absolutely incredible what this technology can do.
This afternoon I played around in #photoshopai. Here is the result. Do you think I should be worried?
Unfortunately, as #AI gets better, it will become even easier for a wannabe author to produce a decent looking #childrensbook without needing an #illustrator or even knowing how to write.

@moritzkremb A few years ago I remember thinking how cool it would be to have an app that knew you and your data enough that you could use it as a personal navigator. When you go to a new city you could ask it. Where should I eat? Or even… Who should I talk to? Imagine that now with AI.
I put one of my own linocut/watercolors into #AI on #Adobe's new Beta and used generative fill to extend the image.
As an #illustrator, I don't quite know what to think of it all. Should I be excited or freaked out at what AI can do using only my art as inspiration?
Have you ever thought about what children’s book illustrators think of the rising use of AI? Check out my latest blog post:

@imaginmatrix I’ve always thought the way we write music is a bit crazy, like surely there has to be a less complicated way of writing it. I would also love to see what other ways there are to notate music. Please make a thread about this.
@literarylesliez I am an author/illustrator and my submission to you on QueryTracker just crashed when I hit enter. I hope it still went through and you will get to see my manuscript for Freedom to Read. Here is one of my illustrations. Have a great day!
@joelbrigham This one is the most frustrating. On Querytracker, for example, many agents write that they would love to see more author/illustrators, but you can only upload 2MB. It’s impossible to compress a dummy to that and it’s annoying to just send text when it only tells half the story.
Today is #RightToReadDay. Help me to free the books! They‘re sick of being pushed around. Do your part. Support your local librarian and stand up for the #freedomtoread. Your books will thank you.
@Marie_Masferrer That’s true, but this way the book actually ends on a positive note as Amy questions the past and begins to discover what she has missed. Plus, it’s 100 years after 1984.
In 2084, books are forbidden and children are only taught to read, write, and speak the truth. When Amy discovers a book in an old room at her school, her eyes are opened to a world she never knew existed and she realizes it’s time to take a stand. #BookBanning#LibrariesUnite
